GCH Senior Training
This page shows the main group training sessions for the club. Keep an eye on the homepage and the training facebook page for any last-minute updates to the sessions below. If you are an established runner come to one of the sessions in Dangan, introduce yourself and chat with the leader to find out what session will suit you. If you want to start jogging/running please check out our Fit4Life training section.
Tuesday 7.00pm-8:30pm Intervals/Hills/Long Repetitions - Track at Dangan
A regular club track session at the athletics track in Dangan. Warm-up and drills beforehand at 7pm around hockey pitch. Club track session at the Athletics Track in Dangan 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
Session geared at sub-20min 5km and Marathon Training Group
Wednesday 7.00pm Track Session - Westside Track
All welcome, session geared at 20 - 30 minute 5km. Coach Brian Bruton
Thursday 6:30pm - 7.30pm Tempo/Threshold Run - Dangan Pavilion (Summer) or Westside (Winter)
Warm-up dane, session starts at 6.30pm (ensure you warm-up 20 mins before the session)
Tempo/Threshold session starts at the GAA pitch in Dangan (during the summer) or at the Westside, in front of the basket ball pitch (during the winter) Coach: Jerome Debize
Saturday 10am Long reps/Hills/Tempo Session
Coach Matt Lockett's group.
Starts with a warm-up. Generally in Dangan, but may vary during Cross Country Season
Saturday 11.00am Long reps/Hills/Tempo Session - Dangan Pavilion
Similar group in attendance as the Wednesday night session, 20 - 30 minute 5km

Sunday 9:00am- 10.30am Long Run - Cathedral
The Sunday morning run starting at the Cathedral (on the footpath opposite main Cathedral doors) has become an institution. This is about 11 miles. We starts at about 5min/km (8min/mile) during the first 4 miles, then some groups will accelerate.
