Sparkling performances at the Connacht Indoor Championships

Day 1 of the Connacht Indoor Championships for U12s and & U13 took place in Athlone IT on Saturday and over 20 athletes travelled from the Club.  It was a hugely enjoyable day for all the athletes and their parents  and there were some great performances too from the  youngest athletes in the Club.  The following won medals on the day and have qualified for the National Championships in March  ….

Great performances too from U12s Eva Boo who won her 60m heat, Alison Strange 5th 60m heats  and Jodie Quirke 5th 60m heats. Shane McGovern won his 60m heat in the U12 boys race  and was 3rd in heats of 600m. Eireann Greene finished 3rd in her U13 60m heat, Alysso Salvo, Thea Power and Jane Fahy all finished 5th in their U13 60m heats and Emma Tannian 6th in her U13 60m heats.


Day 2

At Sunday’s event   over 70 athletes made the journey to AIT and three of our juvenile athletes achieved double gold.  Seren O’Toole won the U18 60m hurdles and the 200m,  Robert McDonnell won the U18  200m an 400m and Conor Hoade won the U16 60m hurdles and the long jump.  Over 30 juvenile athletes achieved individual qualification for the National Indoor Championships for 2019  and  a list of those athletes is attached below as well as the full results of Day 1 and Day 2.

There were numerous silver and bronze medals won also on day 2 and the top four juveniles qualified for the National Indoor Championships in March. The list of qualifiers for each event is attached below as well as the full results for both days.
