Results of 2018 Connacht Championships U14 - U19
The Connacht Championships took place in windy conditions in Claremorris on Saturday. GCH athletes had a very successful day achieving numerous Connacht titles and personal best performances.
Three of our athletes secured triple Connacht titles.
Aoife Sheehy won the 100m hurdles in 16.76 seconds, the 400m hurdles in 1.07 and the 400m in 1.00 in the U19 Girls category.
Luke Dahler was equally successful in the U15 Boys category winning the Long jump in 5.29m, the 100m in 12.3 seconds and the 200m in 25.7.
Daragh Jennings also took home three gold medals. He won the 800m in 2.16 and he had a throw of 12.63m to win the Shot putt and 30.69m the U15 Boys discus.
Double Connacht titles were achieved by the following athletes
U19 Darren Costello 100m and 200m
U17 Robert McDonnell 200m and 400m
U17 Seren O’Toole 300m hurdles and 400m
U15 Conor Hoade 80m hurdles and 250m hurdles and also 2nd in triple jump
U15 Emma Moore 200m and 800m
U14 Ava McKeon 75m hurdles and 200m aswell as 2nd in the 80m
Connacht titles were also achieved by the following;
U19 Thomas McStay – 800m
U18 Eadaoin Davoren – Triple Jump and 2nd Long jump
U18 Aaron Brennan – 800m
U16 Eimear Rowe - 800m and 2nd in 200m
U14 Cillian Griffin 100m and 3rd in 200m
U14 Leana Nic Dhonncha – 800m , also 2nd in 200m
U14 Isabella Burke – 1500m
The following athletes won Silver medals
U18 Rachel Hughes – 400m
U18 Mary Duggan – 100m
U17 Barry Murphy – 800m
Bronze medals were won by the following;
U19 Jack Maher – 800m
U19 Dylan Corr – 100m and 200m
U17 Colma Ni Chedigh – 400m
U17 Eoin Killeen – 800m and 1500m
U15 Aoife Waldron 80m hurdles and 4th in the long jump
U14 Mathieu Madden – 80m
U14 Aoibhe Joyce – 1500m and 4th in the 800m
Just outside the medals but qualifying for the national championships were Samuel Madden in the U17 Boys 400m, Jonathan McGrath U17 Boys 200m, Niall Breathnach in the U16 100m Matthew Gordon in the U15 Boys Long Jump and Roisin Dalton in the U15 Girls 200m.
Also competing for GCH at the Championships were Sean Duggan in the U14 boys 80m and 800m, U14 Girls Kelsey Wall 75m hurdles and 80m, Rachel Fahy 80m, 200m and 800m, Ava Crowe 80m and 75m hurdles, Lile Fagan 80m and 800m, U15 Girls Eve Ayo 100m and 200m, Gillian McGrath Long Jump and 200m, Nicole Quirke 100m, 200m and long jump, Aisling Healy 100m and 200m , Sinead Duggan 100m, U17 Boys Eli Sheedy 100m and 200m.
