Great Performances in Loughrea

The County Cross Country Championships  for Uneven ages took place in Loughrea today in warm and pleasant conditions.  GCH juveniles has some great success with two individual wins for Mia Craughwell in the U13 Girls race and Emma Moore in the U15 Girls race.  The U15 Boys and U15 Girls both took home the team gold for GCH.  Once again thank you to the Organisers and the team of volunteers for this event and to Iain Shaw for the live results.

The U9 Girls were superb today with Orna Dunne leading the team home to silver medals and picking up an individual bronze medal also.  She was followed in 4th place by Sarah Donald, Alanah Joyce 12th and Ella Sisson in 22nd place. A brilliant performance in their first ever Cross Country race.  In the U9 Boys Nathan Podmore finished in 40th place.

In the U11 Girls race Jessica Kay led the GCH girls team to bronze medals and had a great race to take  5th place herself.   She was followed up by Juno Hayes in 6th, Elisa Jamie Stapleton 12th, Eva Boo 22nd , Ella Stenson 23rd, Jodie Quirke 38th and Jessica Burke in 43rd position. 

In the U11 Boys Race Conor Faherty ran a stormer to take home an individual bronze medal leading his team to 5th place overall Riley Stenson finished 7th, Harry Kay 33rd and Carl O’Brien 34th.

In the U13 Girls race Mia Craughwell timed her race to perfection to take the lead on the final hill and finishing strongly to take the County title and to lead her team to Silver medals.  Clodagh Quirke continues to go from strength to strength this year finished strongly  in 4th place with Caitlin Podmore finishing 15th, Jane Fahy 30th and Emma Tannian 31st.  In the U13 Boys race Renato Brule finished 20th.

Emma Moore was the convincing winner of  the U15 Girls race taking the County title with ease and leading the Girls team to Gold medals.  Isabella Burke also put in a strong performace to take an Individual bronze medal with Aoibhe Joyce in 5th, Eabha Walsh 7th, Rachel Fahy 10th, Gillian McGrath 12th, Leana Nic Dhonncha 13th and Ava Crowe 14th.

In the U15 Boys race Daragh Jennings ran convincingly to take an individual bronze medal leading his team to Gold medals.  He was followed by Sean Duggan in 4th, Brian O Culain 7th, Eoin Killeen 8th and Matthew Gordon 9th.

In the U17 Girls race Eimear Rowe put in a solid performance and took the silver medal over the 4k distance.  In the U17 Boys race Eoghan Jennings  ran strongly to take the individual bronze medal over the 5000m distance.  Finbarr McFadden finished 5th and Oisin Fitzgerald 8th.
