Connacht Titles for GCH U14 Girls and U16 Boys

Many of our young juveniles travelled to Sligo for the Even Ages Cross Country  and there were many notable performances on the day.  Mia Craugwell  continued her good form and finished in 4th place in the Girls U12 race over 2,000m distance.  Clodagh Quirke also ran a fine race to finish in 43rd position.  Richard McGrath was our only U12 boy in action on the day and he had a strong run to finish in 26th position.

The U14 Girls put in a tremendous performance to win the Connacht title with Emma Moore running strongly  to take the Individual  Silver medal.  Emma was followed home by Isabella Burke in 5th, Ava McKeon 10th, Aoibhe Joyce 11th and Rachel Fahy in 18th place.

Eimear Rowe , stepping up an age ran superbly to take the Individual Bronze  medal in the Girls U16 race and she led the girls  team home into the silver medal position.  Jennifer Hughes finished 7th, Joanna Healy 21st and Riona King 28th. 

The boys U16 put in a great battle and packed well to win the Connacht title with Barry Murphy first home in  5th, Eoghan Jennings 6th, Alvaro Garcia Lara 7th and Cillian Jordan 10th.  Ailbhe Murphy in her first race for the Club finished 12th in the U18 Girls race over 4oom distance. 

Aaron Brennan, stepping up an age  was the top performer of our U18 Boys  and ran a fine race over  the 6,000m distance to secure the Silver individual prize.  Michael Healy and Gary Martyn secured top 10 positions also finishing in 9th and 10th place respectively.
