Well done to everyone who has put in some serious training over the past 4 months. It's never easy to train for a marathon and even harder when the wind, rain, hail, sleet and snow are against you and that could happen on a long run the way the weather has been since Christmas. None the less last weekend there was some fantastic achievements by our club members and hopefully the GCH crew in Boston will come across the line in triumph!

A massive congrats to Nicola Duncan from all at Galway City Harriers.

Nicola Duncan ran a personal best of 2.33.28 in the London Marathon on Sunday 13th of April which was well inside the 2.38 qualifying standard for the European Championships in Zurich in August.

Nicola was first in her category on the day and not only that but her time beat number 13th and 14th in the elite category.

This was a new personal best for Nicola and not only that but is now fifth place on the Irish all time marathon lists.

Mick Clohisey (Raheny Shamrocks) took first place in the Men’s Race in 50:14, 2 minutes ahead of a deserving second place by Emmett Dunleavy (Sligo AC) in 52:21. And well done to our own Matt Bidwell coming home in third place in 54:02.
