Saturday 21st September, 10 am

The course takes in some of the most spectacular scenery starting at Gurteen beach and finishing in Clifden

Route  The course starts at sea-level and remains relatively flat for the most part. There are no major climbs, and the few small inclines you will encounter are short in length.

Complimentary bus from Clifden to Roundstone for the start of the race

Pacemakers for 1hr30, 1hr45 & 2hrs

Goody bag along with high quality finishers medal & technical tee for all runners

Grey Lakes 10k

This year the "Grey Lake 10k will be incorporating the Galway AAI 10k Road Race Championship

Loughrea Athletic Club aslo celebrates the 45th Anniversary of the formation of the club.

The Grey Lake 10k Road Race starts on the shore of Loughrea Lake and takes in a lap of the famous "Grey Lake" - Starting near the Tennis Club Grounds and finishing at St. Brendan’s Cathedral.
Race Day headquarters: Temperance Hall, Barrack St. Loughrea
Collect you race pack on the day from 10:30am at HQ
Senior race starts at 2:00pm
Race AAI approved - Chip Timing- Technical Top for all Finishers

Charlestown 10k, 7th Sept @ 5pm

The Charlestown 10k will be the fourth race in Mayo AC C&C Cellular 2013 Road League. It takes place at 5pm on Saturday 7th September and will be the first big race of the month in the West.

Charlestown is an excellent location on N5/N17 and easily accessible from all points in the province.

Entry is €20 and can be made on runireland.com, closing date 6th Sept.
Registration on the day at the race HQ CBD Complex at GAA Park.

Parking & changing facilities available.

Refreshments in the complex after race and prize giving will follow.

Clonbur Half Marathon

With some great prizes for the winners of the Corrib Mask Half Marathon Challenge this weekend on Sunday 25th August at 12.00pm.

1st Male and Female €100 each 2nd Male and Female €75 each 3rd Male and Female €50 each Whoever SETS a new course record (male and female)will get €150!

Last years times were 1.17.59 MALE and 1.41.46 FEMALE.

This year there will be a dinner voucher for two for both 1st M and 1st F over 60's!

THERE WILL BE FREE TSHIRTS FOR THE FIRST 200 TO REGISTER!

Boston Scientific 5k Road Race

The Annual Boston Scientific 5k takes place on Tuesday 27th August at Maree Community Centre, Oranmore at 7pm.

Entries are €15 and registration is at www.runireland.com

Entries will also be taken at the Race HQ on the night (provided race limit has not been reached).

Entry Prizes in all categories. AAI Permitted.

All proceeds go to East Galway Cancer Care so please support.

Martin Egan Memorial 10k Race

The 4th Annual Martin Egan Memorial Race 10k takes place on Saturday 31st August in Gort at 6.30pm.

Entries are €15 and registration is at www.runireland.com
Entries will also be taken on the night from 5.00pm

Prizes in categories including 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male and Female. 1st O/40, O/50 & O/60.
The Martin Egan Memorial Cup will be presented to the overall winner, with a second cup been presented to the first local person home.

Manual timing, race clock. Refreshments served in Community Centre after the race. AAI Permitted.

RESULTS: Day 1 Galway Senior/ Master / Junior Athletics 2013

Congratulations to all who took part in Day 1 of the GALWAY SENIOR/MASTERS/JUNIOR ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013.

In the Mens 400m there was a clean sweep for the Galway City Harriers with Rony Kelly winning Gold in 52.09, in 2nd Conor O'Rourke won Silver in 54.15 and in 3rd winning Bronze was Ronan Coyle 54.82

In the Womens Senior 400m Rachel Finnegan of Craughwell AC took Gold in 1:07.07 while Niamh Hennelly Galway City Harriers came away with a Silver medal for 2nd place in 1:09.37
