5th Annual Cloonacool GAA 5K Road Race

Location: Community Pitch, Cloonacool, Co. Sligo
Starting at the community pitch, Cloonacool on Sunday, February 16th 2013 at 12:00. Runners, joggers, walkers all welcome.
Entry via www.runireland.comorEntry on the day from 10:30 at pitch.
Entry fee is €10 adult/€5 children/€25 family.
AI approved, Permit #14/091 (Sligo county board).
Changing and shower facilities available.
Refreshments provided afterwards.
A bus will leave Dangan carpark at 7.15am, collecting at bus stop across from Dunnes stores Headford rd at 7.25am & Oranmore Community centre at 7.35am. Cost €10. Athletes not travelling by bus need to be in Athlone IT at 8.45am if they are doing events early in the day.
Attached is the timetable for day. There is one major change from earlier editions: the under 13 boys & girls 4x100m relay has been brought forward to the first event on the outer track. Originally it was due near the end of the event. There is also an elite mile during the day around 3.45pm.
This year sees the 10th Anniversary of the Annual Tuam 8k and Tuam AC hope this year will see the largest numbers yet for the race.
The race takes place this Sunday 19th January 2014.

The Athletics Ireland Master and Intermediate Cross Country Championships will be held this year in Dunboyne, Co Meath on Sunday 23rd February 2014.
There are 2 Master Team categories, 35+ and 50+ in both the Male and Female categories.
There are Individual Master categories in 35, 40, 45, 50, 55 etc
Athletes can be on Club and County teams
1. Master Men 7k
2. Master Men 0/65 4K
3. Master Women 4K
4.Intermediate Men 8K
5.Intermediate Women 5k
4 to score on all club teams.

The Galway City Harriers dominated the field this year with 5 GCH athletes in the Top 14.
In 5th place in the Senior Men’s race this year was Matt Bidwell in 34:05. Gerry Carty took first place in MO40 in 35:31 while Sean Hanley had a great run and took 2nd in the MO40 category in 35:56. Niall Murphy came 2nd in the MO45 category. And without fail Martin McEvilly was there to take first place in the MO65 category in 39:22
All Ireland Novice Cross Country Championships - GCH teams required!
Date - Sunday 15th December 2013
Venue - Waterford IT Campus
Distances Womens 4km, Mens 6km
This is one of the best and most enjoyable races on the calendar, and gets a range of club athletes competing from all over the country, and is a great entry point to National cross country competition.
GCH can enter club teams, with 8 to run and 4 to score, in both Mens and Womens races
GCH athletes will also be considered for selection for the Galway County teams for the event .
Course will be open from 10.0 am
Registration from 9.30am
Course is expected to be soft to firm despite weather
PLease note: The only request from the venue is that spikes are not permitted in the function area or the dressing rooms.
Course has a main Lap ( A ) which must be completed in all races
Lap B and C is inclusive of A
Lap D IS THE ONLY LAP THAT TURNS AT GATE 1 AND is completed first before the main lap and is the big loop in reverse
Start : 182m from Start line to the start of the “A“ lap.

Connaught EVENS & Senior XC Championships 2013.
AAI Leitrim in conjunction with North Leitrim Athletic Club will host the Connaught EVENS & Senior league Cross Country Championships 2013.

The Galway Cross Country Championships took place on Sunday 6th October at Bushfield, Loughrea, home to Loughrea AC. The new format of races saw adults & juniors race together drawing one of the largest numbers of athletes to the field. And none better represented than GCH with almost thirty athletes competing across all races.
