Free Pancakes, Wine & Councillor Niall O’Brolochain in Drag!

Galway Rape Crisis Centre are looking for volunteers to help raise funds by running the Dublin mini-marathon . They have issued an open invitation to attend the launch of their annual mini marathon fundraising drive, on Tuesday 28th February at 6pm in the Galway Golf Club, Salthill. Pancakes, wine and yes, Councillor Niall O’Brolochain will be in Drag!

Successful Galway Senior Athletes Meeting in Athenry

Last night, 9th February, a very successful meeting of senior Galway athletes and club members was held in Athenry. The objective was to generate ideas to improve participation and competition at a senior level across the county. A wide range of issues were discussed including racing, training and communications. Nearly forty very enthusiastic and positive participants helped to make the meeting a success. The meeting will be reported to the Galway County Board meeting next week.


Club award for Martin McEvilly

At our AGM Tom Porter, club chairman, presented a special commemorative award to Martin McEvilly on his winning of the masters world championship last September.

Martin won gold in the men's 3000m steeplechase M55 in San Sebastian, Spain. His time of 10:58.88 was a season's best.
