Day 1 Galway Senior, Masters and Junior Track and Field Championships. Well done to all our GCH athletes who competed on Thursday last, May 23rd on what was a top-class night of athletics in Dangan. Congrats to Robert McDonnell of Galway City Harriers who clocked a European Youth Olympics qualifying time in the 400m in perfect conditions in Dangan. Robert’s time of 48.80 beat the 48.95 standard needed and also claimed the Junior men’s title. The GCH County champions included Junior Champions Lydia Doyle, Eimear Rowe, Richard Kamson, Robert McDonnell and Gary Martin.

The Galway Senior, Junior and Masters (o35, o50, o65) Track and Field Championship will be held over three Thursday evenings in Dangan with a 7pm start each evening. There will also be a County Combined Events Championship day.
Events Day 1 Thursday 23rd May: 1500m, 100m, 400m, 100/110 hurdles, Shot, Javelin, Long jump, Walk. Closing date: Wednesday 22nd May at 1pm.
National 10k: The National 10k Championships will take place on Sunday April 14th in the Phoenix Park in Dublin. Note that the closing date is April 10th and AAI club members must use the specific entry link below to enter the National 10k Championships. The option of having your number posted out may still be available. (note start time is 10.45am)

The 2019 Galway AAI 10 Mile Road Race Championship will take place in conjunction with the excellently organised Craughwell AC 10 Mile road race this Sunday, 24 March 2019 at 11AM.
The results of these championships will be based on the race's official result and it is incumbent on all local athletes to be correctly registered in the race, both club and category. Galway AAI will produce the Galway AAI Championship results separately to the official race result.
National Senior Indoor Championships
It was a hugely successful and momentous weekend for Galway City Harriers’ athletes at the National Senior Indoor Championships held in Abbottstown, Dublin last weekend. A haul of four National medals, two of them gold: Cillin Greene winning a fantastic maiden National Senior title, and Sean Breathnach adding to his haul of over twenty National Senior titles.
The Galway City Harriers AGM will take place on Wednesday, 30th January 2019 in the Menlo Park Hotel, at 8pm.

The National Intermediate and Masters Cross Country Championships takes place on Sunday 3rd February. Dundalk IT is the venue for this year's Championships ( link to race schedule below). The club are looking to put teams together in the various races. The Master individual categories begin at over 35 through to over 75s.
Any interested club athletes contact the secretary ( details below ) by Friday 27th January.
Master Team categories are : o35, o50 and o65. Club athletes will also be considered for the Galway County Teams.
Well done to all our Juvenile, Senior and Master athletes who competed at the recent Galway County Indoor Championships, which were held in Athlone. Fantastically organised competition, with close to one thousand competitors competing over the two days. Full results links below for both days.
Next Indoor competiton approaching is the National Junior & u23 Championships on January 27th in Athlone. Please note the closing date is 22nd January for this event.
The Galway County Indoors takes place on 12th and 13th January 2019 in Athlone. The Senior and Master competition will take takes place on the Sunday (13th January). Please note the closing date is Thursday 3rd January for Senior and Master entries. (v35&v50). Contact the club Secretary for entry. Any master athlete who wishes to compete as a senior - let me know when putting your name forward. All athletes must be registered for 2019 in order to compete.

The National Cross Country Championships for Senior, Junior and Juvenile even ages takes place this Sunday 25th November, in Abbottstown. First race commencing at 11.30am.
Galway City Harriers will have a number of teams and individuals competing across most of the races. Juvenile teams/individuals qualified from the Connaught Champioships while a number of athletes will also compete on the Galway County Teams.
