The National Senior, Junior and Juvenile even ages Cross Country Championships take place this Sunday, 24th November in Abbottstown, Dublin (National Sports Campus).
Please read the attached document from AAI with the latest Parking/Traffic update which will be in place on the day. ( New Parking Plan due to weather conditions). Best of luck to all our GCH athletes competing and all County Galway athletes !

The National Senior and Junior Cross Country Championships and Juvenile even ages take place in Abbottstown on Sunday 24th November. The deadline for Club Senior & Junior entries is Wednesday 13th November. Any GCH Seniors and Juniors contact club secretary for entry. Athletes will also be considered for Galway County Teams so we need names by Wednesday please ! Adult Distances : Senior & u23 women is 8k, Senior & u23 men is 10k. Junior women is 4k, Junior men is 6k. This is a great event to support even if not running !

Sunday 6th October: Galway County Senior/Junior/Master xc & Juvenile uneven ages. Venue: Palace Grounds, Tuam. 1pm (strictly no entry available after 2nd October)
Sunday October 13th: Connaught Senior/Master league Leg 1 & Connaught National Schools xc. Venue: Moyne Community School, Longford.
Sunday October 20th.:Galway County Intermediate xc & Juvenile even ages. Loughrea.
Sunday 20th OCTOBER: AAI Autumn Open xc (incorporating master trials). Abbotstown
A terrific day for our Master Athletes at the National Masters Track & Field Championships in Tullamore on Sunday last. The weather didn't deter the GCH athletes who returned home with eighteen individual medals and three team relay medals in the various Master category event races.
Connacht Day 2 Track and Field Championships
Day two of the Connacht Championships were held on Saturday 15th June last in Sligo IT with the U14-19 Juvenile events and the Adult Championships taking place.
Below is the timetable for Day 2 of the Galway Senior, Masters and Junior Track and Field Championships, this evening, Thursday May 30th in Dangan at 7pm. Please arrive in plenty of time to check in and collect numbers. Note that events may very well run ahead of schedule, so ensure you are trackside well in advance of any event and listen out for any announcements/updates.
Order of events from 7pm as follows:
Day 1 Galway Senior, Masters and Junior Track and Field Championships. Well done to all our GCH athletes who competed on Thursday last, May 23rd on what was a top-class night of athletics in Dangan. Congrats to Robert McDonnell of Galway City Harriers who clocked a European Youth Olympics qualifying time in the 400m in perfect conditions in Dangan. Robert’s time of 48.80 beat the 48.95 standard needed and also claimed the Junior men’s title. The GCH County champions included Junior Champions Lydia Doyle, Eimear Rowe, Richard Kamson, Robert McDonnell and Gary Martin.
The Galway Senior, Junior and Masters (o35, o50, o65) Track and Field Championship will be held over three Thursday evenings in Dangan with a 7pm start each evening. There will also be a County Combined Events Championship day.
Events Day 1 Thursday 23rd May: 1500m, 100m, 400m, 100/110 hurdles, Shot, Javelin, Long jump, Walk. Closing date: Wednesday 22nd May at 1pm.
