It's heating up in the race for the women's title with Mags, Majella, Jane and Regina all still in contention…..exciting stuff with just 2 more rounds to go!!
In the Men’s race, 2nd place which is still up for grabs, with Bru in typical fashion putting in a late surge which could clinch the runner's up spot.
Watch this space, The Athenry 10k could see some road kill left behind in a last dash for titles…………
Well done to Carmel Brannigan who took part in the 2013 Berlin Marathon last month coming home in 3:38:01!! Carmel has had a great year so far and this was a well-deserved result!
A huge congrats to Martin Hegarty who joined GCH earlier this year. Martin ran a 3:00:10 marathon in Amsterdam on Sunday 20th October, knocking over 9 minutes from his previous result!!
Good luck to everyone running in Dublin City Marathon on Sunday and Una Murphy running the New York Marathon.
I hope to be reporting on lots of good news stories next week.
Latest results from the 2013 GCH Club Challenge which now includes last Sunday’s County Cross Country.
Looks like the Cross Country Season might really see things shaken up with the scores.
NOTE: There has been one amendment to the RULES as now only 5 races will be counted for both the Men’s and Women’s Challenge and not 7 as originally stated.
The Club Challenge is still underway for 2013. I have attached a copy of the Men’s and Women’s results which are updated as far as the Grey Lakes County 10k.
The Cross Country season is upon us so those of you partaking in these races over the forthcoming weeks have a chance to raise the competition.
(The County XC will be added during the week, when final results are available)
Just a reminder that Fit4Life recommences Monday night Sept 16th at 7pm at Westside Library and continues thereafter every Monday and Thursday night (except for Bank Holiday Mondays when we do not meet)
Regular running has many benefits, read this article just to remind your self of some of the benefits.

The Kearney’s Cycles Streets of Galway Organizing Committee wants to thank you all those people who volunteered their time to ensure that this year’s race was a great success. We estimate that up to 200 people helped us on August 9 and August 10 including 80 people who volunteered as race marshalls, over 40 people who helped to distribute at the 5K mark and at the finish, and 30 people who helped us to distribute the race packs in a timely and efficient manner.
