The GCH Committee is pleased to advise that our new Membership platform on is now live and ready to accept members for 2017.
The new system allows us to collect and manage member information and payments in a more efficient manner, and will significantly cut down on the time being put in by Club Officials in the administration of membership forms and cash payments.

GCH Juvenile update
Membership for athletes’ aged 7 to 11 years of age is closing on Sunday 21st May 2017 as the club has reached its capacity for this age group. Membership may re-open in September 2017 and details will be publicised on our Galway City Harriers website and Galway City Harriers Juvenile Facebook page.
There are still places available for athletes aged 12 to 18 and information on registration can be found on the above-mentioned pages.

We had a great workshop with Liz Egan yesterday evening. Liz led us through some practical exercises with key life skills of goal setting, prioritising and planning. It was superb to have a mix of our youth, senior and masters members learning together.
These were a great complement to the workshop by Karen Weekes in February on applying the mind to maximum effect. The planning templates and advice sheets are available here for all.
All at Galway City Harriers were saddened to hear of the tragic death last weekend of Chris McGrath, a recent member of city club GCH.
Chris had competed with the club since juvenile days in the 1990s, and was a very talented and committed athlete who won numerous titles at Juvenile level. In recent years he competed at cross country and road races at regional and National level for GCH and Galway county. A terrific win at the Connacht Intermediate Cross Country in St Marys in 2012 and a top 50 National senior cross country finish in Tullamore in 2013 were among the highlights of his career. GCH Bursary/Athlete Support Fund is now open for applications. Forms are attached and should be completed returned to firstname.lastname@example.org by 10th March.
Bursary payments will be dependent upon club funds being available and will be awarded at the discretion of the Galway City Harriers bursary committee and/or management committee . The committee retain the right to withhold payment if the conditions below are not satisfied.
Applicant must be a paid up member of Galway City Harriers.
GCH Senior Club Gear is in stock and available from Club Member Martin Kearney in his shop, Kearney Cycles in Terryland Retail Park on the Headford Road. Opening Hours Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm.
