No Juvenile Training for U8s to U12s on Sunday 1st October

There will be no Juvenile training in Dangan for U8s to U12s on Sunday 1st October due to the County Cross Country Championships which take place at the Palace Grounds in Tuam at 1 O' Clock.  Many of our young athletes and  their coaches will be attending the event.  

Please arrive at 12 O'clock to get your race number.  If you need a club singlet they will be available to purchase at training on Friday night or at the event on Sunday. The cost is €15.

Best of luck to all our athletes , many of whom are racing for their first time.

Cross Country 2017

The County Cross Country Championships  ( Even Ages) take place at Palace Grounds in Tuam on Sunday 1st October at 1pm  ( please arrive at 12 o'clock).  Please see details of the events below.  Anyone interested in competing should sign up at Training before Friday 22nd September.  Keep an eye out on our Facebook Page for any changes/updates prior to the Event.

The Uneven ages (U9 - U19) take place in Kilcornan on Sunday 8th October at 1p.m.
Please sign up by Friday 29th Sept.



Information for Juvenile Volunteers and Coaches

This pages describes some information relevant for new volunteers and coaches in our Juvenile section.


We take safety of our members very seriously and all our volunteers and coaches working with juveniles are Garda vetted. We are working to complete vetting for all coaches, volunteers and committee members even if they do not work with our Juvenile sections.


Juvenile Training resumes on Sunday 10th September

Looking forward to welcoming our Juveniles back to training after the Summer Break on Sunday 10th September at 10.30a.m.

Training will continue as usual on Friday evenings at 7pm and Sunday mornings at 10.30am.

There will be a short information session for Parents of athletes after training on Sunday 10 th Sept in the Pavillion in Dangan at 11.50am.

Juvenile Membership to re-open for New Members

Juvenile Membership is to re-open on September 1st for any  new members who wish to join the Club from Sept to December 2017.   

The Cost is €50 for each new member and payment can be made online on this Website.   Athletes must have reached 7 years of age in order to join.  (Please note if you are already are a GCH Club member this fee does not apply)

Training will resume on Sunday 10th Sepember at 10.30 am at Dangan Track.

Our annual summer social takes place at Crowe's Bar Bohermore next Saturday, 26th August from 8.00pm We hope to see as many as possible in attendance and finger food will be served. Great way to fuel up after the Claregalway 10K !
This is a great chance to meet and recap all the highlights of the year so far.

Galway Athletes join forces for Team Ireland

Eight Galway athletes were selected  for this years Celtic Games International V teams from Scotland and Wales in Morton Stadium yesterday demonstrating  the current growing  strength of athletics in Galway .   This is attributal to many years of hard work and commitment from these athletes and also to a huge voluntary effort by Club Coaches, the County Board and parents within the various clubs.
