The Connacht Schools Championships took place in Athlone on Thursday last in sunny but windy conditions. GCH athletes posted some tremendous times despite a head wind of up to -3 on the home straight. With just the top two qualifying for a coveted place in the prestigious All Ireland Schools Final next month for the sprinters and top three for the field and middle distance athletes Connacht’s top athletes had to battle hard to ensure their place on the starting list.
