The Galway Cross Country Competitions will take place over the first two Sundays in October and it’s an ideal event for athletes of all abilities. Club members can sign up at Training.
Athletes will need to have a Club Singlet to compete and they can be purchased at the Track for €15.
The Race Distances are as follows for each age group and the Competitions commence at 1PM.
Training for athletes aged 7 to 12 years will recommence on Sunday 18th Sepember at 10.30am. Looking forward to seeing you all back after the Summer holidays.
As our membership numbers are large for this age group Parents of athletes aged 7 to 10years need to remain trackside during the training sessions. If you can help out on Sundays during this session please speak to one of the coaches and you can add your name to the Rota.

Cross Country Training will resume on Sunday 4th September in Dangan for athletes who are interested in competing in the upcoming Cross Country races. This training is suitable for athletes born 2005 and older only. This group will also train on Friday nights at 7pm. Details of training for younger groups and the sprint group to follow soon.

Galway City Harriers juvenile produced some tremendous performances at the National Outdoor Championships in Tullamore this year. In the Individual events our athletes won a total of six gold and 5 bronze medals. Our relay teams broke two national records, won 5 Gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.

Galway City Harriers had an exceptional day at the Connacht U13 -19 finals in Sligo on Sat June 18th claiming over fifty (50) medals on the day.
Cilin Greene did the sprint double at 100m and 200m in U19 Boys and continues to go from strength to strength.
Nicole King won a gold in the girls U19 200m final while Ann Moroney won the 1500m before dashing off to assist Galway senior footballers in Castlebar.
There will be no Juvenile training in Dangan on Sunday 5th June. Good luck to all our athletes competing in the Galway Community Games on Sunday and also to all our athletes on Saturday representing their Secondary Schools in the All Ireland Schools Championships.
