The National Senior, Junior and Juvenile even ages Cross Country Championships take place this Sunday, 24th November in Abbottstown, Dublin (National Sports Campus). 

Please read the attached document from AAI with the latest Parking/Traffic update which will be in place on the day. ( New Parking Plan due to weather conditions). Best of luck to all our GCH athletes competing and all County Galway athletes !

Day 2 Connacht X Country Championships Uneven Ages

Day 2 of the Connacht Cross Country championships took place yesterday in the scenic grounds of Beleek Woods in Ballina and was hosted by Moy Valley A.C.  It was a bright but chilly day and the athletes really enjoyed the experience of running this challenging course.

GCH had two individual medal winners on the day, Fauve Aylmer and Barry Murphy and the U15 girls and U19 Boys brought home team gold.


Round up of Day 1 of the Connacht Cross Country Championships

GCH athletes enjoyed an exhilarating day of cross country running on Day 1 of the Connacht Cross Country Championships hosted by Leitrim Athletics in Calry , Sligo.  Those who made the trip will reap the benefits of their efforts as the season progresses.  Cross country running is excellent development for strength of both mind and body .


Galway Cross Country Championships - Day 2

Our Juveniles were in action at Day 2 of the County Cross Country Championships  at Bushfield in Loughrea on Sunday. Conditions were perfect with warm sunshine and little wind making it a really enjoyable day for all our athletes , many of whom were competing for the first time.   Loughrea A.C. provided an excellent course as expected and the event was well organised by Castlegar AC and East Galway AC.


Galway Cross County Champs Day 1

Day 1 of the County Cross Country Championships took place at Palace Grounds in Tuam in bright sunny conditions on Sunday last.  A big thank you to Castlegar AC for setting up a challenging but enjoyable course and to East Galway for providing the results.

The day got off to a fine start with U9s Hannah Boo finishing impressively in 15th place over the 800m distance, her first ever race for the club. 


No Training for U9 to 12 year olds on Sun 6th Oct due to County X Country event

The County Cross Country Championships (Day 1 ) takes place in Tuam on Sunday 6th October.  As a result there will be no juvenile training in Dangan for U9 to U12s as athletes and coaches attend this event.

Reflection on the 2018/2019 Juvenile Season

GCH Rampant at Relay and B Nationals

Galway City Harriers finished their year emphatically with a sensational five relay titles, two Championship Best performances and numerous other podium places at the National Relay and B Championships in Tullamore. Aoibhe Deely, Chloe Casey and Seren O’Toole were Triple Gold medallists with double gold for Christian Ogbemudia, Conor Hoade & Emma Jane Moran.
