At the National Track & Field Championships today in Tullamore, Seren O'Toole set the first of our two National records in the 75m hurdles. The triple connacht title winner stormed passed the race favourite Niamh Foley in the final 5 yards to claim her first national title. Zoe Moore ran impressively too in the same race finishing 4th. Lydia Doyle was ever so close too in the U16 race finishing 4th By the narrowest of margins. Jonathan McGrath and Did well too to make the final, finishing 6th overall.
Richard McGrath and Ronan Duggan won Silver Medals yesterday at the National Track & Field team Event in Tullamore. A sensational run by the young pair who finished just two hundreds of a second off the Winners in the 60m. Richard actually recorded the fastest 60m of the day.
Rachel Fahy and Aoibhe Joyce competed in the U11 600m recording impressive times of 2.03 and 2.04 over the distance. A great finish to a very successful season for these young athletes in their first ever All Ireland's.
On a balmy Tuesday night in Dangan the first night of the county track and field championships doubled as round 5 of the GCH club challenge. 13 GCH athletes toed the line in the 3000 and 5000m races. At the end of the night Majella Ní Chríocháin and Martin Kearney maintained their positions at the top of the table albeit with reduced leads.
68 GCHers have now scored in the club challenge. Next up is the National Half Marathon in Dublin at the beginning of August.

The county senior outdoors track and field championship sees leg 5 of the club challenge. The events that make up this leg are as follows:
- 7:45pm - 3000m Women
- 8:15pm - 5000m Men
There will be no GCH track training this Tuesday evening to facilitate the county championships so why not use the 3000m/5000m as your track session and gain some valuable points in the club challenge at the same time.

Congrats to Luke O Shaughnessy & Sean Kilmartin on taking bronze medals in the 4X100m relay representing Connacht st the prestigious Tailteann Games on Friday. Sean also finished 4th in both 100m and 200m.
Well done to all who competed yesterday in Claremorris at the Connacht Track & Field Championships. The results were outstanding. From hurdles to sprints to field events and middle distance GCH athletes excelled.

GCH young stars Sarah Agboola and Shauna Brennan take the 100m and 800m titles at the recent Galway City Sports in Dangan. Shauna was followed closely by her team mates Mairead Flynn in second and Ciara Dunne in third, making it a 1,2 and 3 for our talented young GCH athletes.
