The GCH mens National Track & Field League manager, (an excellent determined manager ) Brendan Glynn, has shared with us the following statement :
With Olympics in Rio kicking off in August, why not give your attention to Elite athletics domestically?
Galway City Harriers juvenile produced some tremendous performances at the National Outdoor Championships in Tullamore this year. In the Individual events our athletes won a total of six gold and 5 bronze medals. Our relay teams broke two national records, won 5 Gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.
Brian Bruton, who is far too youthful to call a GCH stalwart yet, represented Ireland in May this year at the European Masters Road Race Championships which were held in the Algarve in Portugal.
Now Brain may not have come home with a tan, but he did come home having come 4th in his Age Category )35 in the 10k Road Race….. a massive achievement Brian!! Congrats.
The National Half Marathon takes place in Dublin on Sunday, August 7th. Anyone wishing to enter can do so using the link below . The Club will reimburse entry fee for those who run.

Track times have now changed to 6.30pm at the usual spot each Tuesday night at Dangan Track!!
Track will now be merged wih Galway Triathlon Club members, this will help it group sizes and to ensure a good range of paces.
Please ensure your track fees are paid in advance.

Galway City Harriers had an exceptional day at the Connacht U13 -19 finals in Sligo on Sat June 18th claiming over fifty (50) medals on the day.
Cilin Greene did the sprint double at 100m and 200m in U19 Boys and continues to go from strength to strength.
Nicole King won a gold in the girls U19 200m final while Ann Moroney won the 1500m before dashing off to assist Galway senior footballers in Castlebar.
