All at Galway City Harriers were saddened to hear of the tragic death last weekend of Chris McGrath, a recent member of city club GCH.
Chris had competed with the club since juvenile days in the 1990s, and was a very talented and committed athlete who won numerous titles at Juvenile level. In recent years he competed at cross country and road races at regional and National level for GCH and Galway county. A terrific win at the Connacht Intermediate Cross Country in St Marys in 2012 and a top 50 National senior cross country finish in Tullamore in 2013 were among the highlights of his career. Chris was a hugely keen, enthusiastic, talented and very competitive runner who always gave his best...
Congrats to Cillian Jordan who had an outstanding run in Mallusk Co. Barry Murphy and Eoghan Jennings ran fine races also in the Junior Boys race with Barry finishing in 17th and Eoghan in 29th position.
