A group of our young athletes in the 15-18 age group are hosting a Cake Sale on Sunday 20th December at the track in Dangan at 11am. They are fundraising to reduce the costs of a training camp in Portugal which they are participating in early next year. This is a fantastic opportunity for this talented group and we would ask you to support them in any way you can. Donations of cakes/biscuits etc or a raffle prize would be much appreciated.
[acidfree:11503 title=" " size=400 align=centre]Three of our U13s won bronze medals at the Nationals in Dungarvin today as members of the successful Connacht team. Eimear Rowe had her best performance of her year to finish in a credible 18th position, she was followed in 19th by Emma Moore, Shauna Brennan finished 36th with all three making the podium for Connacht. Ciara Dunne 80th, Sinead Duggan 138th and Joanna Healy 144th made up the GCH team that just narrowly missed the bronze by 4 places in the team event. So heartbreakingly close for this team.
Due to the red weather warning for Galway this evening we are cancelling all training.
Juvenile training has been cancelled this morning due to a weather warning from Met Eireann.
A massive congratulations to Keith Fallon who won the U23’s Bonze at last weekend’s National Inter Cross Country 8k in Santry. And was 40th overall in one of the most competitive Cross Country Races we have seen to date. Keith has also been selected for the U23 team to represent Ireland in the European Cross Country Championships in France on December 13th, a massive achievement!!
Emma Moore was in impressive form in the U12 race to finish 11th and in the medals in this highly competitive race. Well done too to Gillian McGrath and Rachel Fahy both competing as part of the Galway team. In the U12 Boys race Dylan Connolly battled hard to finish 29th in his first ever National Championships.
Please contact one of the coaches at training if interested in participating in the Connacht Squad Training Session in Claremorris on 13th December.
