The Galway 5km Series sponsored by Bradley Renault is nearly upon us and with many GCH members signed up to particiapate it should make for a great start to the running summer.
Like all good things the series doesn't just happen and there are a few things we'd like some help with before the series kicks off.
The following dates have been scheduled for this years County Track & Field Championships. There will be no juvenile training on those dates.
U8s to U12s Sunday 8th May 2016 at 10am in Dangan
U13 to U19 & Senior Sunday 15th May 2016 @ 10am in Dangan
Please sign up before Friday 29th April at training if you wish to participate.
To help share practical advice on easy-to-prepare and nutritions meals for post-exercise we're holding a recipe competition. Entries are welcome from any GCH member. Winning recipes will receive a voucher from the Gourmet Tart Company.

We all like to train and we have all put in a hard Winter's training this year, so what bette way to congratulateourselves than with some laughs with fellow running buddies.
A night out is planed in the Oslo in Salthill on Saturday April 2nd at 8.30pm.
Finger Food will be served and the 2015 Club Challenge prizes will be presented.

Our Juvenile Club are soon heading off on a 5 day intensive training camp in Monte Gordo, Portugal with 25 of their athletes on the 28th March. The athletes are all in the 16 to 18 age group.
GCH member Sean Breathnach has been a superb throwing athlete for many years. He continues to deliver outstanding throws and was recognised earlier this month by Galway Athletics as Senior Athlete of the Year.
The final Indoor Session for the U7-11 year olds will take place in the Pavillion this Friday 18th March at 7PM. Training for 9 year olds and older will resume outdoors on Fridays at 7pm after the Easter break on 8th April. Training for all ages from 7years old will continue on Sunday Mornings at 10.30am except for Easter Sunday 27th March. There will be no training on Good Friday 25th March or Easter Sunday 27th March as the Track and Pavillion are both closed. Hope you all enjoy the Easter Break.
The AAI National 10k is on Sunday 10th April in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. GCH athletes performed extremely well last year (report here), with three teams winning silver medals and several gold medal winners. We hope repeat and improved performances for this year.
